Welcome to this month’s Build & Bloom Stampers Blog Hop

This month’s theme is Love and Friendship Greeting Cards

Hello Everyone,

I’m so excited to be joining in with this month’s Build & Bloom Stampers blog hop, where the theme this month is to create a Love and Friendship Greeting Card. When I first saw the theme, I struggled to think of how I could make a card for love and friendship theme, as I haven’t bought any current Valentine’s stamp sets. Then I remembered the Sweet Jar stamp set has hearts, so I have used this stamp set for my projects.

How I made my Love and Friendship patterned paper using stamps from Sweet Jar stamp set from Stampin’ Up!

I started with a sheet of Basic White A4 card stock, which I randomly stamped hearts on using the stamps from the Sweet Jar Stamp Set from Stampin’ Up!

Once I was happy with my design, I cut it up to use on my cards. I have some more of my patterned paper left to make more cards with.

How I created my first Love and Friendship Greeting Card

To create this card, I started with A4 sheet of Poppy Parade card stock, which I scored at 10.50 cm and then cut at 14.85 cm to form two card bases. I love to score first as it’s a quick and easy way to make two cards at the same time.

The front panel was then scored at 5.25 cm and folded back to make a Z‑fold.

I decorated the front flap with Petal Pink card stock (4.75 cm × 14.4 cm) and my patterned paper (4.25cm x 13.9 cm).

For the focal point, I stamped a jar overflowing with hearts on Basic White card stock (6.5 cm × 10.50 cm), then layered it onto Petal Pink and Poppy Parade mats.

A sentiment layered on Poppy Parade completed the front.

Inside, I added a Basic White panel measuring 14.4 cm × 10 cm.

How I created my second Love and Friendship Greeting card

I started by scoring a piece of Poppy Parade card stock at 14.85 cms, then cut at 10.5 cms down the short side.

Next I scored at 12 cms. I glued the area between the 12 cms and 14.85 and stuck this down.

I added my Petal Pink matt layers (10 cms x 2.50, and 10 cms x 11.5 cms) on top of the card base and added my patterned paper.

I stamped my sentiment and mounted this on to a Poppy Parade layer on the front

Inside I added a Basic White layer measuring 10 cms x 11.50 cms.

I had such a wonderful time creating the Love and Friendship greeting cards and making my own patterned paper to use for this month’s Build & Bloom Blog Hop. I hope my projects inspire you to create one yourself.

I’d love to see your creations. Please do share your makes, it’s always such a joy to celebrate creativity together!

Well, that’s it from me today. Herbie has been sat patiently, hoping it’s time for a walk and maybe a visit to the local Costa shop for a sausage or two.

Until next time, stay safe and happy crafting.
