Welcome to this months Stamptastic Friends Blog Hop
The theme this month is make a 3D item
Hello Everyone
Thank you for popping on to my blog. Today I wanted to show you how to make a triangular treat box. It’s my first time in taking part in the Stamptastic Friends Blog hop and the theme for this month is to create a 3d item. I knew as soon as I saw the theme, I wanted to make a 3d triangular treat box. I love making these to fill with treats and to give to friends and family for Christmas or birthdays.
How I made my 3D triangular treat box
To make my triangular treat box I started with a piece of Poppy Parade card stock which I cut into a square measuring 20.00 cms x 20.00 cms.
Next I scored this along one edge at 5.00 cms and 15.00 cms.
Next I turned it 90 degrees and scored at 2.50 cms, 7.50 cms, 12.50cms and 17.50 cms. Now along this edge make a mark at 10cms. From the 10cms mark make a score line down to the corner where the 7.50 cms and 12.50 cms line crosses with the 5.00 and 15.00 cms line. Next make the triangle at the other end so you have created a triangle on each end.
Now you need to burnish all your score lines.
Next cut away the four outer squares.
Cut along the flaps up to the triangle. Make a little v shape.
I have attached a diagram as sometimes I find it easier to follow using a diagram as reference.

Now glue the flaps so to make a treat box shape.
On the two short flaps I cut off a triangle from each edge to make it close easily but you could also round the edges.
Tuck one of the flaps in at the same time as pushing the triangle edges in so it forms the triangle box shape. The flap will hold it in place.
Tuck the other flap over the top.
To decorate my treat box I made a belly band out of patterned paper. I used Reindeer Days and cut it 7.00 cms x 17.50 cms. Top tip remember if you use paper with a directional pattern to make sure it is the right way up when you cut it.
I hope I inspired you to sit and create a triangular treat box . I would love to see what you create so please do share.
Well that’s it from me today, it’s time for Herbie and I to go out for a walk before it gets dark.
Until next time stay safe and happy crafting
