Welcome to this month’s Tech4stampers Academy Blog Hop
This month’s theme is make a Blue and White greeting card
Hello Everyone,
I am taking part in this months Tech4stampers Academy blog hop. The theme this month is to make a card just using the colours blue and white.
I knew as soon as I saw the theme I wanted to make a batch of blue and white greeting cards using the Sketched Butterflies stamp set. I love butterflies and love the spring when it gets warmer so there seems to be more butterflies flying around. This stamp set is gorgeous. It has lots of nice sentiments and the butterflies are beautiful. There are dies that co-ordinate with it but I haven’t used them for my cards today.
How I got my inspiration for todays batch of blue and white greeting cards
One of Herbie’s favourite walks is about a 10 minute car drive away to a place called Goodrington Sands. There’s a park leading onto the sandy beach. He hates getting wet so the sea is a definite no go area, but he loves to play on the sand or in the park chasing other dogs and catching his ball. One day last week we were sat on the beach looking at the sea when a pair of butterflies flew past us. So today’s inspiration comes from looking at the blue sea and seeing those butterflies.

How I made my Blue and White Greeting Cards
I decided I wanted to make what is known as a one sheet wonder. There are various ways to create a one sheet wonder, maybe soon I will show another way. For today’s cards I started with a sheet of A4 Basic White card stock. I chose to use Balmy Blue, Azure Afternoon, Misty Moonlight and Blueberry Bushel inks. I randomly stamped all over the sheet of card stock using a different ink for each butterfly.
The One Sheet Wonder for my Blue and White Greeting Cards

Once I was happy with my one sheet wonder I cut it up into 4 pieces measuring 9.5 x 13.9 cms.
Next I made my card bases. I used a sheet of Azure Afternoon, Blueberry Bushel, Balmy Blue, and Misty Moonlight. To do make my card bases I scored the card at 10.5 cms along the short edge then cut it at 14.85 cms. By doing this I can make two cards at once.
Next I made the mat layers out of the same coloured card I cut these at 10 x 14.40 cms. You can make 4 mat layers at once by cutting down the short edge at 10cms, then you’ll have one strip wider than the other so you need to cut the wider strip at 10cms. Now cut them both along the longer edge at 14.4 cms and again you will have two larger than the other two. You need to cut the larger two again at 14.4cms., so you’ll end up with four mats and some strips of spare card.
Finally I cut Basic White for the insides which were 14.4cm x 10 cms.
I haven’t at the moment put any sentiments on the front of my cards as I like to have a batch of cards that I can add a sentiment to when I choose to use one.
My batch of cards are complete and put safely away in my box where I keep all my cards, ready for my to write in and post with Herbie when we go out on a walk sometime.

I had so much fun creating my batch of greeting cards using a one sheet wonder technique. I hope I inspired you to sit and create some blue and white greeting cards to send out some happy mail out to cheer someone up. I would love to see what you create so please do share.
My finished Blue and White Greeting Cards

Well that’s it from me today, it’s time for Herbie and I to go out for a walk. It’s so nice and sunny and the days are getting longer. I think I will take Herbie to Goodrington Sands where the inspiration for todays card came from for a run in the park and on the beach and then maybe a treat of a sausage. Herbie has a challenge every Wednesday on my Dorrie’s Designs facebook page where he asks a question and is rewarded with sausages. He does so well, currently we have an IOU with sausages so I can spread them out. I am a mean Mummy as I don’t let him have one every time we pass one of his favourite sausage shops.
Until next time stay safe and happy crafting.
