Welcome to this month’s Tech4stampers Academy Blog Hop
This month’s theme is make a Springtime card
Hello Everyone,
I am taking part in this month’s Tech4stampers Academy blog hop. The theme this month is to make a card with a Springtime theme.
I knew as soon as I saw the theme I wanted to make a batch of Springtime greeting cards to send to friends using the With You In Mind stamp set and the Bloom Impressions patterned paper. The Bloom Impressions patterned paper is currently one of the free things you can earn with a £55.00 order from Stampin’ Up!. I love this paper, it’s got so many bright pictures of flowers which remind me that Spring is around the corner on another wet and cold day in February.
How I got my inspiration for today’s batch of Springtime Greeting cards
When Herbie and I go for a walk, I like to mix up our routes each day. Sometimes we head to the local park or the beach, but if it’s been raining heavily, we go the long way around to visit Mum, sticking to the pavements to avoid the mud. As we walk, I love admiring the gardens along the way. Lately, I’ve been spotting the first signs of spring—snowdrops, daffodils, and crocuses pushing their way through the soil, adding little pops of colour to the winter landscape remind me Winter is nearly over and Spring is coming.
My Springtime Greeting Cards

How I made my Springtime Greeting Cards
To make my Springtime greeting cards, I started by choosing which sheets of the patterned paper I wanted to use. Next, I gathered the card stock that would compliment the patterned paper. I love how with Stampin’ Up! everything co-ordinates, and it tells you on the back of the pack which colours they have used to create the patterned paper. I chose Melon Mambo, Azure Afternoon and Flirty Flamingo for my card bases. I started by scoring each piece of A4 card stock along the long edge at 14.85 cms. Then I cut this along the short edge at 10.50 cms. I now have two pieces, so can make two cards at once.
Next I chose for the mat layers Daffodil Delight, Shy Shamrock and Basic White. I cut these at 10cms x 14.4 cms.
The patterned paper was cut at 9.5 cms x 13.4 cms. I then randomly cut this into strips, keeping them in the order they were cut so I could match up the pattern.
I stuck the patterned paper onto my mat layers.
I stuck the mat layers onto my card bases.
Next, I chose my sentiments from the With You In Mind stamp set and stamped these onto basic White card and mounted these onto a contrasting border. I glued these straight on to my card as postage is expensive, but you could to give dimension add dimensionals to them.
Finally, I cut Basic White for the insides, which were 14.40cm x 10 cms.
My batch of cards are complete and put safely away in my box where I keep all my cards, ready for my to write in and post with Herbie when we go out on a walk sometime.

My finished Springtime Greeting Cards

Well that’s it from me today, it’s time for Herbie and I to go out for a walk before it gets dark. He is waiting patiently, hoping we might go to his favourite beach for a run and then a treat of a sausage. Herbie has a challenge every Wednesday on my Dorrie’s Designs Facebook page where he asks a question and is rewarded with sausages. He does so well, last week he earnt 4 sausages, currently we have an IOU with sausages so I can spread them out.
Until next time, stay safe and happy crafting.
