Welcome to this month’s Tech4stampers Academy Blog Hop
This month’s theme is Summertime Sunshine
Hello Everyone,
Hi and welcome! I’m so excited to be joining in with this month’s Tech4Stampers Academy blog hop, where the theme is Summertime Sunshine. I have chosen to show you how I created my Z Fold Greeting card using the Florals In Bloom patterned paper from Stampin’ Up!.
How I got my inspiration for today’s Z Fold Greeting Card
When Herbie and I go for a walk, I like to mix up our routes. Sometimes we head to the local park or the beach, but if it’s been raining heavily, we go the long way around to visit Mum, sticking to the pavements to avoid the mud as Herbie loves to roll in mud. As we walk, I love admiring the gardens along the way. I’ve become a bit of a plant-spotter, noticing the little changes that come as the days are getting longer and warmer. Recently, we had a welcome spell of sunshine, and it’s amazing what a few bright days can do. Almost overnight, the flowers seemed to burst into bloom, turning the streets into a patchwork of colour. Delphiniums, Roses, Poppies —each garden offers its own little display.
I think it’s a gentle reminder that even on the most wet days, there’s beauty to be found if you take the time to look for it.
Z Fold Greeting Card

Materials I used to make my Z Fold Greeting Card Using the Florals In Bloom patterned paper
- Granny Apple Green card base 29.5 cms x 10.5 cms scored at 14.9 cms and 7.4
- Darling Duckling card 11.5 cms x 10 cms
- Darling Duckling card 3.5 cms x 10 cms
- Patterned paper 11cms x 9.50 cms
- Patterned paper 3 cms x 9.50 cms
- Basic White 10.50 cms x 10 cms
How I made my Z fold Birthday Card using the Florals In Bloom patterned paper
- Burnish your folds on your card base. Bending the 7.4 fold back on itself so it looks like a backwards Z
- Glue the two pieces of patterned paper onto the Darling Duckling card mats. I flipped the smaller one over so I could use both sides of the patterned paper.
- Glue the smaller one to the inside on the far right of your card. This will still show when your card is closed.
- Glue the larger one onto the front of your card where the Z is. Remember when you turn it over to put the glue on only to put glue on the right side of your mat layer so when it is flipped over and stuck into place your card will still open as there’s no glue on the bit that hangs over when it was folded back.
- Stamp your greeting on the white mat layer.
- Glue this into the inside of your card
My finished Z Fold Greeting Card

I have now made a batch of 5 Z Fold greeting cards which are now put safely away in my box where I keep all my cards, ready for my to write in and post with Herbie when we go out on a walk sometime. I had so much fun creating my Z Fold greeting card today, I hope I inspired you to sit and create a Z Fold greeting card to send out some happy mail out to cheer someone up. I would love to see what you create so please do share.
Well that’s it from me today, it’s time for Herbie and I to call on Mum and go out for a walk. It’s so nice and sunny. I think I will take Herbie to Goodrington Sands for a run in the park and on the beach and then maybe a treat of a sausage. Herbie has a challenge every Wednesday on my Dorrie’s Designs facebook page where he asks a question and is rewarded with sausages. He does so well, currently we have an IOU with sausages so I can spread them out. I am a mean Mummy as I don’t let him have one every time we pass one of his favourite sausage shops.
Until next time stay safe and happy crafting.
