Hello Everyone,

Anyone who knows me well, will tell you I love bright colours, so when I saw the Full Of Life suite from Stampin’ Up! in the new annual catalogue, I knew I wanted it. Whilst I was waiting for it to arrive, I had fun thinking of ideas of what I could create using this suite. Included in the suite there is a stamp set with dies, DSP (patterned paper), some beautiful iridescent faceted gems and gorgeous ribbon. l am sure to receive a card using this suite would brighten anyone’s day.

Today I wanted to show you a quick and easy way to make a simple card using the DSP as the main focal point on your card.

To create todays card

I started with a sheet of A4 card which I cut at 10.50 cms along the short edge. I then scored it at 14.9 cms. I made my matt layer out of a sheet of Lemon Lime Twist which I cut at 14.40 x 10cms. I choose a piece of patterned paper and cut this at 9.50 cms x 13.90 cms. Then I chose my sentiment and punched it out and put it on foam pads to give me card a little dimension. Whilst the creative juices were flowing I went onto create a twisted easel card and lots of other cards which are now all ready in envelopes ready for me and Herbie to pop into a letterbox whilst we are out on our walk later. . I have had so much fun creating with this set i have decided to be brave and take a leap out of my comfort zone and run my first ever product based class via Zoom. The details are below.

Card Making Workshops in and around Brixham

Currently I hold three card making workshops a month. These are all listed on my classes page

New for July 2024

Full Of Life online card making workshop via zoom Wednesday 3rd July – 7 to 9pm

I love the Full Of Life suite, it’s so bright and cheerful I am sure it will brighten any ones day  to receive a card made by it in the post   I have taken a leap right out of my comfort zone and am offering it as a product based class via Zoom.  The closing date to book a space for this class will be Monday 12th June so that I have time to order everything and get it out in the post.    I am really excited to be doing this as my dream for Dorries Designs is to make it possible for everyone to come together to have fun and make friends and to break down barriers so that everyone can be included. I appreciate that for a variety of reasons not everyone is able to go out to a card making workshop so am bring it to you in your home.

There are three levels for this workshop.

Bronze level £20.00 for this level you will receive a full pack of Full of Friends patterned paper, envelopes, cardstock, embellishments and everything you need to create 3 stunning cards.  There will be die cuts and punched shapes but no stamped images included in this option. This is because as a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator I am not allowed to sell stamped images.  I will also include a PDF showing how to create the cards.

Silver level £40.00  for this level you will receive everything in the bronze level and the Friends For Life stamp set

Gold level £65.00 this will include the dies, as well as everything included in the Bronze and Silver levels. I will also include a PDF with 3 extra cards not shown anywhere else which I have made especially for my Gold class attendees as a thank you from me.

Herbie’s news

Herbie in case you hadn’t guessed is my shadow and nearly always is where ever I am, especially if it might be I have gone in from the shed to make a drink, quick as a flash he’s run in and sat patiently waiting by the fridge just in case it might be treat time. I swear he has a digital clock inside him as he can be fast asleep in his bed in the lounge whilst I am in the shed. I walk in to get a drink and he’s sat patiently waiting.

When I am not crafting another of my hobbies is gardening. Last weekend her in the UK we had a bank holiday , so an extra long weekend. I spent some of it weeding and planting some plants in one of my flower beds. Herbie was in his element, every time I cleared a patch so he had to dig a hole just in case he could find some treasure. He was as pleased as punch when he found his three balls that had been buried were recovered. I went in to get a drink and came out to find him fast asleep lying on top of his balls just in case a doggie friend walked by and grabbed them.
