How to create a blended background using blending brushes and ink

I had so much fun creating this quick and easy card for a friends birthday. To make it I started with a piece of Basic White card stock which I cut at 9.50.cms x 13.9 cms. I decided I wanted to create a sunset background as a backdrop for the hot air balloons, so I chose the inks I wanted to use to make my sun set background on my card. I chose Granny Apple Green, Lemon Lime Twist, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Poppy Parade. With a scrap piece of paper underneath I started blending on the scrap piece slowing moving over on to my card. I started at the bottom and worked my way up. making sure each colour blended into the next one leaving no harsh lines. Once I was happy with the result I set about stamping and die cutting out the hot air balloons using the Hot Air Balloon bundle from the January to April 2024 Stampin’ Up! mini catalogue. I assembled the balloons and stuck then on to my card mat a layer of Daffodil Deliight cardstock cut at 10 cms x 14.4 cms. Then I chose to make the card base out of Granny Apple Green cut at 14.85 cms x 21cms and scored at 10.50cms, added my balloon layer and chose a sentiment and my card was finished all ready for me to write the envelope and pop in the post to my friend. cms

New card making class in Brixham

Yesterday I held the first ever Card and a Glass class at Brixham Conservative Club. You may be thinking what’s a Card and a Glass class. The answer is is where you can for £5.00 come and make a card and have a £1.50 contribution towards a drink of your choice. It’s an ideal way to come and make some new friends and create a beautiful card using Stampin’ Up! products. Here’s Tracey and Zoe having fun yesterday.

I will be back on 15th March creating Easter cards. Please send me a message if you would like details.

Thank you for joining me today I hope you have enjoyed reading how I made my quick and easy card using blending brushes and ink and seeing the pictures from yesterdays Card and a Glass class.

Until next time stay safe and happy crafting.
