Welcome to this months Tech4Stampers Academy Blog Hop.
This months theme is: Make a Thank you card.
Hello Everyone,
I am taking part in this months Tech4stampers Academy blog hop. The theme this month is to make a thank you card. I love to make a batch of thank you cards so that I have them ready for when I need one. One of my favourite ways to make a Thank you card is to use Designer Series Paper from Stampin’ Up!. This is also known as patterned paper.
My inspiration for todays Thank you card
When I take Herbie and Mum out on an adventure I love looking at the countryside as I drive along. One of my favourite times of the year is Autumn when the leaves on the trees are changing colour and there are beautiful heathers. My inspiration for today’s card came from one of our adventures recently where we saw rolling hills, leaves turning yellow and purple heather.
I used the Thoughtful Journey Designer Series Paper for my thank you card
This is the Thoughtful Journey Designer Series Paper. There are 48 sheets in a pack with four sheets of each design. I can see so many reasons to create a card using it for all sorts of occasions.
How I created my thank you card using the Thoughtful Journey Designer Series Paper from Stampin’ Up!
I started by making my card base. As I am in the UK I used a piece of Mossy Meadow A4 card which scored at 10.50 cms and cut at 14.85 cms. I like to score first as by scoring first you can make two card bases out of one sheet of A4 card at the same time, saving time when you are making a batch of cards.
Next I cut 3 strips that measured 4cms x 10.00cms in Basic Black. I chose the sheet of patterned paper I wanted to use and cut this at 10 cms. Make sure if it is a directional pattern it’s the right way up before you cut it. Then I cut 3 strips at 3.50 cms x 9.50 cms. I stuck these to the Basic Black strips using liquid glue. I like using liquid glue as you have a little wiggle room to make sure it is straight before it sets.
I added these to the Mossy Meadow card again using liquid glue. I cut a Basic White layer for the inside that was 10 cms x 14.40 cms I stuck this inside my card and with the remaining piece of patterned paper I had left over stuck this inside. I liked the card front with the images so added my sentiment on the inside.
I hope I inspired you to sit and create a thank you using the Thoughtful Journey designer series paper from Stampin’ Up!. I would love to see what you create so please do share.
Well that’s it from me today, it’s time for Herbie to go out for a walk. Currently though it’s raining and Herbie hates getting wet so he will be hiding under the settee hoping I haven’t spotted him. Unfortunately he forgets to hide his tail so that’s a dead give away to where he is hiding.
Until next time stay safe and happy crafting
